3. The Jump

This obstacle consists of a jump of various heights depending on the level, from a pole on the ground to a jump of 3 to 4 bales of straw lying end to end. The jump cannot exceed the height of a straw bale at any level. The horse should approach and jump naturally and with confidence.

The attributes of the correct working horse and rider. There is no penalty for a few strides of a relaxed canter after the jump at Novice level. Touching any part of the jump will be penalized. Refusing or running out will be severely penalized.
